“Kate Moss meets Penny Lane.” With a tagline like that scribed atop the look list for Houghton Fall 2016, we knew the collection wouldn’t disappoint long before the doors to the presentation even opened. No one has quite mastered bridal ready-to-wear like designer Katherine Polk. As expected, plenty of nude Chantilly, silk fringe, shearling furs and dreamy floral prints adorned the garments, which stayed true to the designers modern, urban bohemian aesthetic. However, we were pleasantly surprised by pieces constructed for the expecting bride. No, these weren’t dowdy or conservative, but celebratory and fun, as matrimonial maternity wear ought to be. A portrait of Bianca Jagger (our favorite iconic bride) hanging on the wall looked on approvingly as light blue sequined sets strutted by.
This is a can’t-miss bridal collection for any “it girl” looking to break the rules or just simply stay true to her badass self on her wedding day. Check out the full line up in the gallery above.
